Building on a 110-year old family tradition, Bugatti continues to bring head-turning and heart-racing automobiles to help conjure dreams and excite the imaginations of car enthusiasts everywhere.

As the Creative Director for a variety of related projects I focused on creating a visual experience for consumers who have an affinity for the finer things in life, while being careful not to alienate the majority of the population that just like to fuel their dreams. The history of Bugatti had to be a prominent factor in each and every project that I touched.  For me it wasn’t good enough to assemble a bunch of pretty pictures, without educating the consumer of the storied history that surrounds this iconic brand.  I did my research and found three things that true automobile enthusiasts are inspired by and used them creatively to tell the complete story of the Bugatti brand.

MOBILE FIRST
DEVELOPMENT

For a website to translate its ideas and offerings it must be able to do so on all devices. My philosophy on website development is simple – “if it ain’t working on mobile, it ain’t working period”. The process of translating the hundreds of beautiful images and information from the Bugatti world into an easy to navigate website that was responsive to every user’s device became a puzzle unto itself.  My OCDs truly kicked in during the design process, and what initially seemed like a burden bestowed upon my team of developers, became a passion between the team members, with a shared mantra that “good enough” just wasn’t “good enough”.  The care and consideration that was put into the development of the website helped to elevate the user’s experience to another level of excitement.

L'ACCOUTREMENTS

In addition to being responsible for the creative direction of Bugatti’s new website, I was also contract to be the Creative Lead and Designer of their 2020 Model/Series Brochures, as well as direct the design of magazine ads and social media design aesthetics. For the design of each model’s brochure I focused on filling the majority of the real estate on the facing pages with beautiful images of the automobiles, while educating the reader with a set amount of copy that was carefully written to add to the page’s intrinsic format.
